Troubleshooting –

If your Home ISP uses CGNAT (Carrier Grade NAT) (Optus Home Wireless / Belong / Exetel) or IPv6 only (Such as Telstra Mobile Data) you may need to contact your ISP to change this to a normal IPv4 connection (Dual IPv4/IPv6 is ok as long as it is a real public IPv4 address). Mobile Data providers normally offer an alternate APN (such as telstra.hybrid) which will provide you a real public IP address. It does not need to be static – just a real public IPv4 address.

To test if you have CGNAT login to your Router – view the WAN IP you have allocated. If it is a private address such as 10.x.x.x or 100.64. x.x – 100.127. then you have CGNAT enabled. The IP allocated on your router should match what you see on either speedtest.net or by googling ‘What is my IP’.

If you experience connectivity issues please enable logging in settings, then perform test calls and provide the examples as well as the log file to service@nexttelecom.com.au for further investigation.
